Cookie Policy
Last updated 29 July 2026
1. What this policy covers
This is a plain, specific list of every cookie and browser-storage item ("cookies" below, for short) that Kansumi sets: what each one is for, whether it needs your consent, and how long it lasts. It complements our Privacy Policy, which covers what we do with data more broadly.
2. Strictly necessary: always on
These keep the product working and don't require consent under GDPR/ePrivacy rules. You can block them in your browser, but doing so will break sign-in and other core functionality.
- homeai_session: cookie. In the zero-setup demo/dev mode, keeps you signed in for the length of your browser session.
- better-auth.session_token and better-auth.session_data: cookies, once full account sign-in is enabled. Keep you signed in (about 7 days) and cache that check for performance (about 60 seconds). Signing in with Google or Apple briefly sets one more handshake cookie during the redirect, cleared immediately after.
- homeai_anon: cookie. Lets a floor plan you upload before creating an account be claimed once you sign up. 24 hours.
- homeai_locale: cookie, remembers your chosen language. 1 year.
- homeai-theme: local storage, remembers your light / dark / system display preference. Kept until you clear it.
- homeai-consent: local storage, remembers the choice you make below. Kept until you clear it.
- A few small local-storage flags that remember which in-product tips you've already dismissed (e.g. the dashboard walkthrough, chat hints): functional only, no personal data.
3. Analytics: only with your consent
Choosing "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner loads PostHog to understand product usage: for example, whether a generation completes or an export is requested. We configure it to keep its identifiers in your browser's local storage rather than a cookie, and we leave automatic click/pageview capture off: only the named events our product code sends are recorded. Nothing loads and no identifier is stored until you accept; choosing "Essentials only" keeps analytics off entirely.
4. Payments
Checkout runs on our payment processor's own hosted page, a separate domain from Kansumi. We don't set any payment cookies ourselves, cookies on that page are governed by the processor's own policy.
5. Managing your choices
Change your analytics choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser (its Settings → Privacy → Site data, or equivalent): the banner reappears on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies entirely from your browser's settings, though blocking the strictly-necessary ones in §2 will break sign-in.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email ahead of taking effect.
